Are You There
It’s after midnight at the station
No more trains, no more people, just me an my bottle of wine
I used to have a house and family
Lots of money and friends, tell me, what’s happened to me?
Well, the nights aren’t as bad as the daytime
At least there’s nobody walking by acting like I’m not realy there
Somewhere along the way I lost my dignity
It’s either “Help me God” or I’ll surly die
Are You there? Do You hear?
Can You hear my heart breaking?
God, I need You to hear
Won’t You please stop this aching?
Well, I guess this is what it took to make me need You
I give up, I will not survive one more day without You
I’m speeding down the city highway
Got my jag yesterday, it’s all I ever dreamed about
For as long as I remember
I’ve been chasing my own dreams, there’s nothing that I want I can’t buy
So I don’t understand this feeling
As if something was missing, something just isn’t quite right
You’d think I would be happy
Still I feel like I’m no richer than that beggar lying over there
Could I have been living a lie all this time?
When will true happiness ever be mine?
If I was a bird why would I fly away?
Wings have no use in a cage anyway
Lead me, I’ll follow wherever You go
All I want is to know
You are there and You hear
You can feel my heart breaking
God, I know You can hear
And You will stop this aching
Now I know this is what it took to make me need You
I gave up, You came in, now I’ll never be without You
